Protecting the Environment
At Asham, we recycle waste into biogas, we use solar energy and, eventually, a wind turbine to supply power to the hotel. In the long run, we hope to be fully power independent using energy from renewable sources.
Engaging the Community
The hotel is built by the community. Currently, almost all the staff is from the neighborhood. We will continue engaging the community to explore ways and means by which they will benefit from the business opportunities that will be generated from the hotel.
We Serve African Dishes
Celebrating Africa
Native African crops like yams, sorghum, and millet are widely used in African cookery, as well as cultivated imports like wheat, rice, and cassava. Starches for bread and a common African food called fufu or ugali are derived from these crops.
African Cuisine
We hope the hotel will serve as a meeting place to celebrate the beauty, diversity, and resourcefulness of Africa. We hope Africans and African lovers will come not only to meet others like them but also to organize events that will inform and educate others about the continent.
